I Just Received an IRS Scam Message
I just received an IRS scam message on my phone this week! I've been sharing articles about IRS scams for years, but this is the first time it happened to me.
This is what the message said in a robotic voice:
"Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is official and final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that we are actually filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 509-288-4631. I repeat the number 509-288-4631. Thank you."
I searched the 800 Notes website and found that many others have been scammed using that same telephone number. Click on this 800 Notes link to see the different comments from those who experienced the scam.
I'll continue to post articles dealing with IRS/Tax scams so we can all stay alert!
